Veteran’s Puppy for Life Organization was founded with one purpose - to “Help to Heal Wounded Souls…One Puppy at a Time!” If you are a veteran living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) then we want to help you!
We do, however, have a few requirements that you must meet in order to be eligible for our program.
01.
As a veteran living with PTSD, you have to want to get better. If you are not in treatment for PTSD, you are not eligible for our program. The purpose is to help you get better and that also requires treatment. A service dog is not a substitute for treatment, it’s a supplement.
02.
The letter is to confirm that you are getting treatment for your PTSD and in need of a service dog or animal. The letter should state:
03.
In order to place you with the best service dog for you and your situation, please complete the questionnaire that can be found: HERE.
We also need a copy of your DD214 for our records.
Please note - this is a forty (40) week course and attendance requirements must be met in order to complete the program. You are only allowed to miss 2 classes over the 40 week period. In-class is typically one hour every other week. There will also be homework to be completed frequently.
